PROSPECTUS FOR INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE FOR HIRING THE ACADEMIC CONSULTANTS IN SVU COLLEGES, S V UNIVERSITY, TIRUPATI

WITH REFERENCE TO THE NOTIFICATION NO.E.II(6)/ACs (SSC)/2025-26, dated 31.10.2025

NOTE:-

1.  Hiring the Academic Consultants in the University shall be on the basis of Merit through All India Notification and Selections by the duly Constituted Selection Committees.

  1. Good Academic Record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University.
  2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET.
  3. Candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./ Ph.D.  Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/ Ph.D. Degree) Regulation,2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position in any University, College or Institution.

Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/ Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/ Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree. All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:

      a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode only;

                 b) The Ph.D. thesis has been awarded by at least two external examiners;

                 c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

                 d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one is in a refereed journal

                 e) The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

                  f) The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

       g) “Ph.D. Degrees which are pursued either full time or part time will be treated as Degrees awarded through Regular Mode provided these are in conformity with the Existing Statutes / Bye laws / Ordinances etc. of the Degree awarding University. However, the Ph.D. acquired under distance mode is not permitted”.

  1. NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.
  2. A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master‘s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC)(Non-creamy  Layer)/Differently- abled ((a) Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Loco-motor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
  3. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master‘s Degree prior to19 September, 1991. A relevant grade which regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master‘s level shall also be considered valid.
  4. The percentage of Rule of Reservation on overall basis covering the intake of total number of Academic Consultants.
  5. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR HIRING ACADEMIC CONSULTANTS IN ENGINEERING DISCIPLINE :

i. Essential

First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering (Engg.) & Technology (Tech).

ii. Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;

2. Papers presented at Conferences and / or in refereed journals.

  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS IN PHARMACY DISCIPLINE:

i. Essential:

  1.  A basic degree in pharmacy
  2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from  time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
  3. First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy.

ii. Desirable:

  1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization; and
  2. Papers presented at Conferences and / or in refereed journals.

          Since the UGC has prescribed the above qualifications for teaching positions in all higher education institutions for maintenance of minimum standards in consultation with the Statutory Councils governing the approval of courses respectively, any future modification in qualifications for appointment of teachers in universities/colleges offering such courses will automatically be considered as adopted by the UGC as prescribed qualifications for those courses.
